The Larkin Strings

The Larkin Strings are a young, Sheffield based professional string ensemble consisting of four Violins, two Violas two Cellos and a Double Bass, joined occasionally by a pianist or other guest soloists.

Made up of graduates from Hull University, Sheffield University, Huddersfield University and Leeds College of Music, the ensemble's performance history has lead to appearances in many venues including Sheffield's Botanical Gardens, Hull City Hall, Chatsworth House, the Deep and the House of Lords in London.

The group provide a wide range of different musical services in various different combinations including:

Concerts: The ensemble is available for both evening and lunchtime recitals performing a variety of music for full string orchestra and chamber ensembles.

Weddings/Corporate events: Often reduced to a string quartet, the group can perform a wide range of classical favourites and pop song arrangements for weddings, wedding receptions, corporate events, parties or any other event which might enjoy some high quality background music. They are also available for studio recordings and session work.

Shows: The Larkin strings offer a ready made string section for choral societies, theatre groups, opera companies and scratch orchestras. They are also able to offer their services inn producing arrangements or orchestral reductions.
