Sir Dancelot

Sir Dancelot are a 4 to 5 piece ceilidh/barn dance band based in the Heart of Wales. They cater to Wales, the Welsh Borders and the Midlands, providing, together with their expert dance caller, an evening of fun, excitement and conviviality.

Sir Dancelot have played together as a band since 2006, formed in Mid Wales out of the finest players on the local folk session scene. The 5-piece line-up comprises: Graham Brand (concertina, cittern), Peter Timmins (fiddle), Matt Watson (whistles, guitar, jaw harp), Richard Osborne (guitar), David Cornelius Eger (mandolin, fiddle, whistle, guitar); they also play as a 4-piece, depending on the client's requirements – and are available in smaller combinations for non-dance bookings. The band's musical repertoire includes traditional music from all four nations of the British Isles, with other tunes from across Europe and the Americas, all providing a rock-solid yet irresistibly uplifting accompaniment to your dancing.

The band work together with a number of different callers, depending on location and availability, all of them highly experienced and knowledgeable in their craft, with excellent entertainment skills. The dances range from the well-known Scottish and English country dances through Welsh twmpath and Irish ceilí to the occasional Breton or East European circle dance. The callers are skilled in knowing their audience, choosing dances to suit the abilities, age – and level of intoxication! – of the dancers. The aim is to include everyone, to ensure that a fun time is had by all.
