The Copper Cats

Ali Affleck's new band, The Copper Cats perform a traditional New Orleans Blues repertoire with songs associated with the great Ma Rainey, Alberta Hunter and Merline Johnson and with lots of wildly exciting instrumentals thrown into the mix too. The band are fronted by current recipient of the Scottish Jazz Federation's Jazz Vocalist of the Year award, Ali Affleck and comprising of some of Edinburgh's finest and most respected musicians.

After 16 years living in the USA, Ali has amassed an enviable musical collection rare old Southern Jazz and Blues and these songs are delivered with prowess and passion. Pulsatingly rhythmic, full of drive and passion, The Copper Cats offer up an exciting, hearty and delicious performance and where-ever they are, a floor-filling performance always results!
