The band are based mainly in Southampton but has members in Reading and Bournemouth. Most of their work is in and around Southampton but they are happy to travel within about a 100 mile radius - or further for the right event.
Hot Latin rhythms, the sounds of Colombia, the dancing never stops....
Atlantico, established in the South of England, are a 9-piece band who defy you not to dance. Whether they are locked into the back-beat of Cumbia, the offbeat galloping rhythm of a Porro, or throwing in some Mambo, Merengue or Colombia's own style of Salsa, you have to get up and move.
Native Colombian, Antonio Porras, fronts the band singing in the traditional style particular to his country. Highly talented Colombian percussionist Gregorio Merchan is at the heart of Atlantico's rhythm section. The distinctive sound of Oren Stone's accordion weaves insistent melodies that stay with you long after the night is over while the horn section punctuates the music with rich harmonies.
The band line up is completed by Tommy Denton on piano and guitar, Andy McKenzie on congas and cajon, Duncan Brown on saxes and clarinet, Linden McKenzie on trombone, Rosy Maguire on guiro and Guy Marshall on bass – most band members provide backing vocals
