About this Act
Blue Bossa are a professional sax and guitar jazz duo, comprising Steve Grainger (saxes) and Gary Shaw (guitar). They play melodic and accessible jazz instrumentals, creating an atmosphere that is perfect for every type of event. This can be cool, ambient jazz classics for drinks receptions and cocktail parties, or a hot, lively jazz set for a festival.
Blue Bossa's repertoire includes the most beautiful jazz standards ever written, drawn from every decade since the 1940's, right up to the present day. They play these totally live, with Steve on sax taking the melody, and both players sharing melodic jazz solos.
Steve and Gary are both highly experienced professional instrumentalists. Gary has toured and recorded with artists such as Roger Chapman, Jimmy Witherspoon, Eric Bibb and Chris Youlden. He has also co-written material with Sir Van Morrison. Steve has recorded and toured with artists such Culture Club, the Beach Boys, Denieice Williams, and Jimmy Witherspoon. Blue Bossa Duo's combined gigging experience ranges from stadiums to jazz clubs, and every type of venue in between.
