The duo are based in Ayrshire but regularly play across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
The MacDonald Brothers shot to fame a number of years ago on ITV's 'The X Factor' and now work professionally as a two piece duo providing a high impact visual and sounding self contained show. They are multi-talented musicians and vocalists playing Guitars, Piano, Harmonica, and are also award winning Celtic musicians on the Accordion and Fiddle. All this is supported by their high quality custom recorded backing tracks.
Their music is a mix of Celtic flavoured famous covers from their platinum and gold selling albums as well as a mix of other current popular songs. Their music act is one of the most versatile around and is enhanced in some shows by backdrop moving visuals.
The brothers have been learning music since the ages of 5 and 6, and have been performing in front of audiences for well over a decade. Starting out as young teenagers playing at weddings and clubs they rose to their peak of fame on ITV's 'The X-Factor' reaching 4th place the year Leona Lewis won. Since then they have had amazing success playing to crowds in the tens of thousands at various events and venues such as Cardiff's Millenium Stadium and London's O2 arena. They toured the whole of the UK as the sole support act with Irish superstars Westlife, have had 3 top ten albums in Scotland and were even given an unreleased song by Sir Elton John to record for their album. They have also had 3 of their own headlining tours in Scotland and have travelled as far as Australia to promote their debut album in Australasia through SONY BMG. We are able to take a number of bookings for the lads between their recording, touring, and overseas commitments so please contact now for availability.
The brother perform some of the more famous songs from their various albums (i.e 500 Miles and Shang-a-lang) and also many other songs from modern day to yesteryear. A lot of people may not know that The MacDonald Brothers were themselves a full-time wedding band before their success on the X Factor so have great experience and have played literally hundreds of private functions over the years. Also included in the set is a short ceilidh section where they will talk the crowds through the various basic ceilidh dances i.e Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant etc.
If you have any special requests like first dances, no problem! They're will be more than happy to work on making your night that little bit extra special.
