About this Act
The Akina String Quartet is formed of graduates of the Royal Welsh College of Drama, The Royal Academy of Music in London, The Royal College of Music and Turkish Conservatoires.
Forming ensembles of the highest quality, Akina Strings provide vibrant music perfect for corporate events, weddings, parties, concerts and sessions. Recent highlights have included performing with Patrick Hawes, Claire Jones and Elin Manahan Thomas and future projects include providing musicians string sessions for the jazz label Edition records for innovative composer/pianist Dave Stapleton's latest project 'Slowly Rolling Camera'.
The Akina String quartet have an extensive repertoire combining a mix of much loved traditional favourites with pop arrangements. We offer a variety of ensembles ranging from duos to string sections so you can be sure of the appropriate sound for your event.

We have recorded for S4C (Dechrau Canu Canmol) Various eisteddfod, BBC Radio Wales, Sky Arts, & BBC Radio Cymru working with film as well as audio recording.
