The band are based in Glasgow but regularly play across Scotland.
Reelie Jiggered was established in 2001 in Glasgow due to its members' love of making music, and particularly, Scottish music. It has since become a very successful ceilidh band performing at many venues all over Scotland including Glasgow City Chambers, The Renfrew Ferry, The Winter Gardens, The Albert Hall, and a large number of the big hotels in the central belt of Scotland.
The band has over 125 years of combined musical experience and despite the name (Reelie Jiggered) produces a lively, upbeat and thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere at any event. Moira, the Accordionist, originally from Orkney, is a very accomplished player and caller and can make any novice dancer feel like a true expert by the end of the night. The other band members, all of whom studied music at university and went on to pursue careers in the subject, are also well known for getting on to the floor to demonstrate the dances for anyone who is really unsure! Their wide range of dances is always thoroughly enjoyed by all who participate and a great evening's entertainment is guaranteed.
