Taryn Charles

Taryn was originally introduced to the world of music by her beloved grandfather, who was responsible for her discovery of Jazz and Soul music in particular. At the age of 6, Taryn was enrolled in the Barbara Speake Stage School, where she remained until she was 16. Since graduation from stage school, Taryn has allowed her love of Jazz and Soul to be a significant influencing factor in her professional performances.

In recent years, Taryn’s portfolio has included backing singing for artists such as Kim Weston, Gwen McRae, and Candi Staton. Her most recent endeavours have involved being part of an ITV show, and lending her vocals to soul superstars Odyssey as well as being one of the lead singers with the touring theatre show ‘The History of Soul’.

Taryn’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry allows her to perform effortlessly and confidently, in front of both intimate and large audiences. Her vocals never fail to command centre stage.

Taryn is hard working with an unsurpassable enthusiasm towards music.

Taryn performs a revival of classic soul and Motown classics with the kind of passion and soul the music deserves, Taryn pays the ultimate tribute to the legends of the soul and Motown era.

Taryn performs an extensive repertoire covering the classic greats. Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Etta James to name a few !!

To add to the classics Taryn likes mix it up with modern Funk & Soul artists including Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars & Cee Lo Green.
