Maria Camahort is a London based guitarist, ensemble leader, composer and teacher. She graduated with a distinction in MMus Performance from the Guildhall School of Music, and awarded with the Guildhall Artist Fellowship 2010-12. Her exceptional knowledge of her instrument and her devotion towards chamber music and collaborative projects have given her the opportunity to perform in a great variety of genres, settings and contexts.
Her solo repertoire includes Baroque, Classical, Latin influenced, jazz influenced, Spanish and contemporary music. She can also present acts with other instrumentalists. Duos with soprano, flute, violin, cello, etc. Trios with strings, quartets, etc. She also can offer two particular projects (trio and quintet) of a mixture between Classical and Spanish traditional music.
Maria has performed in several festivals such as City of London Festival, London Guitar Festival, Kings Place Festival, Buxton Festival, Bath Guitar Festival, Barcelona Guitar Festival, International Conservatoire Week Festival, Edinburgh Guitar & Music Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, etc. She has performed in venues of many cities, such as Barcelona, Madrid, London, Paris, Brussels, St Petesburg, Warsaw, Cracow, Sevilla, Valencia, Oxford, Edinburgh, Brighton, Orléans, etc. In London, she has performed at Kings Place, Southbank Centre, LSO St Luke's, St James´s Picadilly, The Forge, Barbican Centre Pit Theatre, Bishopsgate Institute, Jackson's Lane Theatre, The Blue Elephant Theatre, St Martin in the Fields and Bolivar Hall among others.
