The band is based near Edinburgh and are happy to travel within Scotland as well as the North of England for events.
The Aberlady Moonshine Orchestra are a Scotland based act play an eclectic set of Jazz and Blues standards rearranged in a contemporary style. While the band are fundamentally a concert act, many of the numbers are great for dancing too and consequently they are equally at home in a wedding or corporate venue.
The line up is Alan McLay on vocals and guitar, Andrew Girdwood on bass and vocals, and John. J. Donoghue on drums, percussion and vocals. The band can also incorporate guest performers who join them on Violin, saxophone and harmonica to provide a larger sound if required.
They are all very experienced professional or semi professional musicians and and take their many musical cues from acts as varied as Hoagy Carmichael, Bo Diddley, Peggy Lee and Billy Holiday and are also happy to take requests.
