Sophie Lawson

Sophie is a classically trained soprano singer from the Scottish Borders who has been singing at weddings and other events professionally for fifteen years at venues across the country. She lives in the central Borders with her husband, little girl and dog. She runs her own business, Eildon Music Company, with which she teaches music, piano and voice privately as well as performing.

Sophie attended university at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied classical singing under Margaret Izatt. In 2010, Sophie won the Jean Highgate Scholarship for Singing at the Royal Conservatoire. During Sophie's time at University she also sang as a choral scholar at New Kilpatrick Church under Chris Nickol. Sophie was proud to also be involved in "The Gift Song" which took her to New York with community choir "In Chorus". Sophie was employed to voice "Amazing Grace" as part of the song and enjoyed a performance in front of the Canadian Prime Minister, as well as Tony Hadley.

In the eleven years since graduating from University with an honours degree in education and performance, Sophie has worked as a music teacher in schools in the Scottish Borders. As a teacher Sophie is required to be a multi instrumentalist as well as a singer, and she plays piano, ukulele, guitar and fiddle.

Sophie prides herself on being a versatile performer. She can sing a range of styles with great success, from Schubert to Sheeran. Sophie also enjoys making acoustic versions out of a more upbeat song, creating an intimate and special version just for you.
