In fact, the majority of Rose's work is as a wedding singer and she has consequently gained a Highly Commended award in the solo entertainment category at The Wedding Industry Awards 2020 and she is currently a finalist in the I Do 2020 awards in the Best Wedding Entertainment category.

As a child, Rose's vintage passion was ignited by the likes of Doris Day, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe and she later moved on to exploring the roots and path of jazz. After gaining her Performing Arts Degree, Rose spent time working in bands and as a session singer but was always drawn back to the big band, swing sounds she grew up with.

Rose concentrated on perfecting the songs she saw in films and later fell in love with the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Peggy Lee. Listening to jazz, blues and swing, Rose found new artists such as Postmodern Jukebox, Caro Emerald and Imelda May hugely inspiring and added to her ever-expanding repertoire of songs.

Rose Devine can deliver an authentic set from the 20s to the 60s but her most popular songs are the modern tracks she sings in retro styles (e.g Beyonce’s Crazy in Love sung as a Charleston, Sweet Child of Mine sung as New Orleans style blues or a jazz version of Careless Whisper). These tracks can add an unexpected twist to the performance, spark conversations and are great for getting people on the dancefloor.

Rose Devine uses use a compact sound system to sing solo to the highest quality backing tracks. This set up allows Rose to keep costs down as well as providing musical accompaniment that can instantly switch from a brass band to string quartet, jazz band to full orchestra or whatever style is required.
