The band is based in Tyneside, County Durham and North Yorkshire and play across the UK between Scotland and Southern England.
The Andy Lawrenson play Festivals, Jazz Clubs, Village Halls, smaller theatres and occasionally pubs, and have a good following in the form of an extensive mailing list and good Facebook presence. ticket sales are usually good and audiences enjoy the performance.
*The name and content of the show changes from year to year, and the set is tailored for the tasted of individual gigs, but essentially the music is joyful, up-tempo Acoustic Gypsy swing played on Violin, Guitar and Double Bass, loosely based on the 1930’s Parisian Music of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. This year’s show is The Gypsy Jazz Experience, from early next year they will be touring Jigs and Djangos, a fusion of gypsy swing and traditional Irish/Scottish music. Both Simon and Andy sing, so all shows are a mix of instrumental and song.
