Matt is based in London and happy to travel for events.
Matt Owens came to prominence as one of the founding members of indie-folk band Noah and the Whale, and then for fronting rock ’n’ roll band Little Mammoths.
Matt's first love was the acoustic guitar and it's here he excels playing his favourite songs by the greatest artists on his 60's vintage Gibson or Martin, and a collection of harmonicas. His repertoire is both sizeable and eclectic, taking in acts as varied as The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Whiskeytown and JJ Cale.
Noah and the Whale have collectively sold over a million copies in the U.K, including two gold records and one platinum record. He's toured the world constantly since 2006 and played festivals such as Austin City Limits, Fuji Rock and Lollapalooza, touring with Mumford and Sons, Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire.
Little Mammoths debut album Phantom Dreams came out in summer 2016 to critical acclaim, and after a festival run taking in Wilderness, Isle of Wight Fringe, and Belladrum, the band released their second record "Cargo for the Road" this year with 6 sets at Glastonbury Festival.
