Based in Newark, Nottinghamshire and play gigs throughout the midlands.
Main Street Jazz Collective will bring a sophisticated ambiance to any gathering of any size. Often Described as background, the kind of role they fulfil is to give people something to look at and fill that awkward gap that events have when there is no music. Approximately one in five of their songs incorporate vocals however the majority is instrumental in which they aim to enhance your event not be it.
The act touches all corners of the Jazz genre; from swing to Bossa Nova, Gospel to Gypsy jazz arranged in a way that you can listen to if interested but doesn't rely on attention to be successful. Most of the repertoire comes from jazz standards from the years 1930 -1960 and one or two modern tunes - having had a jazz treatment - can slip under the net from time to time.
