About this Act
The Ben Martin Jazz Band are your one stop shop for the best in jazz entertainment. Ben, who according to the Guardian no less is 'a soloist of immaculate taste and lyricism' is a saxophonist and flautist who has been performing all over the world for over 25 years. He's a veteran of many festivals including North Sea, Brecon, Rotterdam and London EFG and world famous jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scott's in Soho and Smalls in New York.
The band play jazz from the roaring 20's to the present day taking in the Swing Era, Be-Bop and Blue Note and include songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart and jazz versions of pop songs by Michael Jackson and The Beatles. Latin music is a favourite especially the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Various line ups are available from solo to Big Band with saxophone, flute, piano, guitar, ukulele, double bass, drums, male and female vocalists, trumpet and trombone. Ben will help guide you to the perfect jazz band for your event. Able to play a wedding ceremony, drinks reception or a the main party the band are always mindful of the occasion and the clients needs.
